WAVO plans 2006

www.wavoglobal.org At a recent meeting in Bucharest on 20/21 October the Board of the World Association of Valuers' Associations (WAVO) announced plans to host it's first Valuation Congress in Singapore on 15 to 17th May 2006. The congress will be hosted in conjunction with the Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers.

WAVO intends to use the conference as a springboard for its promotion of high standards in valuation worldwide, minimum educational standards within the valuation profession, the harmonisation of valuation methodology and research initiatives.

Members of WAVO include The Appraisal Institutes of USA and Canada, the Australian Property Institute, National Association of Romanian Valuers, China Appraisal Society, Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, Korea Appraisal Board, Hypzert, The Polish Federation of Valuers' Associations, Russian Society of Appraisers, RICS and Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers.

The Board meeting coincided with the launch of the Romanian version of International Valuation Standards at a conference hosted by ANEVAR.

An internationally focused morning session chaired by ANEVAR's Adrian Crivii Guest included guest speakers, Dr Lim Lan Yuan (Singapore), WAVO Chairman, John Martin (Australia), Deputy Chair, WAV0 and Gary Talylor, Past President Appraisal Institute USA, who discussed current valuation practice in their respective countries.

The Polish Federation of Valuers' Associations was represented at both the conference and WAVO Board meeting by Krzysztof Grzesik.
